Age-Friendly AI met Minister Niamh Smyth

The Age-Friendly AI initiative reached a major milestone today during a meeting with Minister Niamh Smyth and her team at Leinster House. We had the opportunity to highlight our work within the ADAPT Centre’s DiscussAI: Ireland’s National Conversation on Artificial Intelligence (est. 2021).

Paula Kelly presented the latest Age-Friendly AI project updates to the Minister, sharing real-world insights, questions and observations that we’ve been hearing from communities all over the country. Age-Friendly AI is out in local communities around Ireland, discussing the lived experiences of people when it comes to AI in their lives. We are bringing insights from those conversations to the people shaping AI policy.

During the meeting, we emphasised the key message from the project:

Technology should work for everyone, regardless of age.

Thank you to Minister Smyth for her time and support when it comes to ensuring the national conversation on AI is open, inclusive and age-friendly.
