Age-Friendly AI visited DeValera Library, Ennis, Co. Clare, and delivered a Training Workshop, bringing together 20 Retired Fórsa members to explore Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a friendly environment.

The workshop introduced what AI is and where it appears in everyday life, including areas such as communication, banking, and healthcare. The session was opened with a welcome speech from Carmel Devine (Clare H & LG) and Claudia Jennings (Membership Development Officer – Retired Members). At the event, participants engaged in conversations around AI and its role in our lives, its benefits and risks and what to look out for when using it.

Following the workshop, participants had the opportunity to engage with interactive demonstrations, including The Spirit of Radio, Art or AI?, a voice-controlled lamp and generative AI tools to generate text and images. These activities helped bring AI concepts to life in a practical and engaging way, showing the benefits and what to look out for when using AI.

The workshop in Ennis was part of the Age-Friendly AI Training Programme that will be rolled out nationwide throughout public libraries in partnership with the Local Government Management Agency (LGMA).
