The Age-Friendly AI Assembly is a key element of Age-Friendly AI, Ireland’s national AI literacy and dialogue initiative for older adults.
At the Assembly, participants will:
When the Age-Friendly AI initiative launched in 2025, we couldn’t have imagined the enthusiastic welcome we would receive from communities eager to learn and engage in conversations around Artificial Intelligence (AI).
During the first year, Age-Friendly AI hosted eight regional discussion events where people shared their hopes and concerns, and ideas on how to make AI more age-friendly. Building on the momentum, and in partnership with Libraries Ireland, our AI Opinion Campaign captured over 600 additional perspectives on how this technology impacts our daily lives, submitted by members of the public through our FREEPOST Postcard Campaign, as well as online via our website.
We listened closely to the feedback shared with us and developed an ‘Introduction to Artificial Intelligence’ training programme that reflects the hopes, concerns and ideas of older adults about AI. This co-developed and tailored training has since travelled across Ireland – from Kerry to Kildare, Sligo to Cork, and many more counties in between.
This event is open to all: older adults, community groups, advocacy organisations, policymakers, researchers and anyone who is interested in the impact AI is having on society and in shaping a more inclusive digital transition for all.
Free event. Places are limited.
