Age-Friendly AI is going to the Men’s Shed in Slane: Shaping the Future of Age-Friendly AI

16th of January 2026

Age-Friendly AI is visiting the Men’s Shed in Slane, Meath, to hold a Citizens’ Think-In.

What to Expect

This is an interactive public discussion event and a welcoming space for you to share your opinions and viewpoints on AI. We will have a conversation about the impact of AI on our daily lives and exchange experiences of engagement with the technology. In these discussions we will look at ideas for how AI might support you, drawing from valuable discussions we have already had with older adults around Ireland. This is also a chance to openly discuss any concerns or questions you might have about AI.

No prior experience with AI is needed to join our event. Your ideas are valuable, regardless of your technology experience. We believe that everyone’s voice matters, and want to hear your hopes, concerns, and ideas for how we can develop an AI training programme aimed at older people.

Event Outline

We will hear an introduction to the Age-Friendly AI project and information about the technology from an AI expert.

Then, we will split into small groups to discuss the impact of AI on daily lives and society. After that, we will feed back the main discussion points to the big group.

Stay on after the event for some hands-on experience with AI technology.
