Age-Friendly AI will run AI Literacy Training with members of the Age-Friendly University Programme at Dublin City University (DCU) on June 15, 2026.
Age-Friendly AI is Ireland’s national AI literacy initiative for older adults. Funded by Research Ireland and run by the ADAPT Centre at DCU and TU Dublin, the training initiative is the result of a year-long public dialogue that has highlighted the hopes, concerns and vision of older adults for AI in their lives.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is shaping many areas of daily life, such as the sectors of healthcare and finance. It can be found in many daily services and products, influencing for example the way we communicate and do our shopping. Based on a series of year-long conversations with older people around AI, we are now rolling out a tailored Age-Friendly AI training programme across Ireland.
What to expect
During this training session, participants will:
- Learn the basics of Artificial Intelligence
- Discover where AI is used in everyday life
- Explore both the benefits and potential risks of AI
- Ask questions in a friendly environment
This session is an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. After the workshop, you will get the chance to try out interactive AI demonstrations with our Age-Friendly AI team.
The event is limited to the members of DCU Age-Friendly University Programme and fully booked.
