The 50 Plus Show

The 50 Plus Show is Ireland’s only dedicated national consumer event for older people and will take place in Limerick on the 12-13th of November. We will have a stand at the event on both days where you can approach our lovely project team and have a chat about the project and your hopes, concerns, and ideas on how to make AI more age-friendly.

About the workshop

Would you like to get an introduction on Artificial Intelligence and share your thoughts with others in a welcoming space? We are organising a workshop on Thursday, the 13th of November at 2 p.m. –  4 p.m. as part of the 50 Plus Show in Limerick where we will have a chat about AI and what it means for different areas, such as healthcare, banking processes or independent living. There will be tea and coffee on arrival and you are invited to try out our interactive AI demos, including the AI Mask and Art or AI exhibition.

What is AI? Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is when technology is designed to do tasks that usually need human thinking, like looking for patterns or making decisions – it is used in your phone, for example in predictive text or in online shopping for making suggestions.

The event will be an opportunity to explore the topic and share your opinions and viewpoints on AI. No experience with AI is needed to get involved; everyone is encouraged to participate.

Citizens’ Think-Ins are interactive public discussion events that are part of the ADAPT Centre’s #DiscussAI National Conversation on Artificial Intelligence. They’re a chance to openly discuss how AI affects our daily lives and society.
