You have probably used Artificial Intelligence (AI) today already!
AI technology can already be found in many areas of daily life, such as personalised shopping recommendations, movie suggestions, and even the weather forecast.
In our Age-Friendly AI training workshop, we are exploring what AI is, where we are already using it, and what to look out for when using it. Whether you are curious about AI technology or new to the topic, you are invited to join us at our upcoming workshop at Carrick-on-Shannon Library in Leitrim!
This free interactive workshop has been co-developed with and for older adults during conversations held throughout 2025 and is open to the public. It is now being rolled out to public libraries across Ireland to include everyone in the dialogue about this upcoming technology and discover how to safely use it for the benefit of all.
No prior experience with AI is necessary to join our event – everyone is welcome.

What to Expect
During this training session, participants will:
- Learn the basics of Artificial Intelligence
- Discover where AI is used in everyday life
- Explore both the benefits and potential risks of AI
- Ask questions in a friendly environment
After the workshop, you will also have the opportunity to try out AI technologies firsthand through interactive demonstrations:
- ‘The Spirit of Radio’ – a vintage radio with an AI twist
- Try to spot the difference between human art and AI-generated images with the ‘Art or AI?’ exhibit
- See how your voice can control a lamp
