There was a great buzz at Moate Library last week! 30 participants gathered for our very first Age-Friendly AI Literacy Training Workshop developed with and for older adults.

We spent the morning exploring the basics of AI, where it can be found in everyday life and its benefits and risks when using it in daily life.

In our Age-Friendly AI Training Workshop, participants engaged in interactive activities during the workshop to:

• learn about Artificial Intelligence in daily life
• find out about the benefits and risks of AI
• try out AI demonstrations first hand

Our Age-Friendly AI Training workshop content is based on the topics raised during our regional co-creation workshops throughout 2025, where we discussed the hopes, concerns and ideas about AI with older people across Ireland. These contributions have helped to shape this training workshop and we were delighted to present our first Module 1: Introduction to Artificial Intelligence in Moate library.

The great turn out and lively engagement will help contribute to more refined training material that will continue to reflect the hopes and concerns of older people.
