We’re delighted with the success of our first pilot library event for the national Age-Friendly AI Literacy training roadshow in 2026, held at Carrickmacross library. At this event we officially launched our FREEPOST postcard campaign for the project to coincide with International Literacy Day, 9th September 2025.
More than 50 members of the public joined us for an interactive and thought-provoking evening. The event began with an introductory talk on AI by Dr. Dympna O’Sullivan, followed by an overview of the Age-Friendly AI Literacy project by Paula Kelly, both interspersed with lots of insights and questions from the participants.

A massive thank you to the enthusiastic team at Carrickmacross library, especially Terence Connolly and Emma Lambe, for expertly organizing and hosting the event. The Q&A sessions were very engaging, underscoring the community’s strong interest in this topic.
This event was an inspiring first step for the design of our nationwide roadshow in 2026.
