Paula Kelly

Paula Kelly is a lecturer and a member of the tPOT research group in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at TU Dublin. She is the team lead on the recently Research Ireland funded Age-Friendly AI: Ireland’s National Artificial Intelligence Literacy Initiative. Over two years this initiative will foster a national dialogue on AI with older adults across Ireland, and co-create and deliver a comprehensive, accessible, and inclusive national AI literacy programme tailored specifically with and for this demographic. Paula is also involved as a volunteer tutor and facilitator in a number of public engagement STEM activities hosted by tPOT and WITU.

Dr Emma Clarke

Dr Emma Clarke is based on the Education and Public Engagement team at the ADAPT Centre where she enjoys making Artificial Intelligence (AI) understandable, inclusive and engaging for everyone. Through ADAPT’s #DiscussAI initiative, Emma coordinates discussions and conversations exploring how AI affects our lives and society. Emma is keen to ensure your voice is heard in shaping our technological future.

Dr Dympna O’Sullivan

Dr Dympna O’Sullivan leads the Digital Futures Research Hub at TU Dublin. Her research focuses on person-centred AI and prioritizes the development of AI systems with a primary focus on enhancing the user experience and ensuring that AI technologies are interpretable and accountable to end-users. She is an expert in transdisciplinary research methods, engaging societal stakeholders to collaboratively and co-create novel technologies.

Dr Damon Berry

Dr. Damon Berry is a lecturer in computing and senior researcher at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering at TU Dublin. Dr. Berry’s research is in the general area of smart healthy age-friendly environments (SHAFE) and ehealth. As a funded investigator in the ADVANCE CRT, the D-REAL CRT and the SFI ADAPT Centre, and as Director of the tPOT Research Centre, Damon advances smart age-friendly environments, e-health, and he works on health knowledge representation, uses Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and informatics to promote healthy independent living, create accessible shared public spaces and to improve the quality of environmental information. Dr. Berry’s involvement in European projects like EU-SHAFE and Hands-on SHAFE has helped to develop policies and improve digital skills for age-friendly environments.

Laura Grehan

Laura Grehan is Head of Education, Engagement, and Societal Impact at the ADAPT Centre. Laura has championed the use of novel public engagement formats designed to empower people of all ages as scientific citizens through initiatives like #DiscussAI, which has reached over 80,000 people to date. Laura’s work aims to help ensure everyone, regardless of age and background, can understand and contribute to the exciting world of technology.

Dr Cara Greene

Dr Cara Greene is Education and Public Engagement Projects Lead at ADAPT. She leads the All Ireland Linguistics Olympiad (AILO), engaging 3,000+ students and fostering linguistic problem-solving. Collaborating with educators, Dr Greene introduced Linguistics to the secondary curriculum, reaching 3,500 students. She also partners with Oide to deliver digital literacy CPD for teachers, bridging the gap between research and educational practice.
